Medical Office Assistant is a blended learning program that is a combination of online and in-person practical classes. The Medical Office Assistant course will teach students the clinical and administrative aspects of working in a medical setting. 


MOABL is developed with input from the Saskatchewan Health Authority and medical offices in Saskatoon. Axiom Career College offers small classes to provide you with the support you need. Admissions Requirements:

   1. Grade 12 or equivalent (GED, ABE)

   2. Basic Computer Literacy

Life-Long Learner Application:

Life-Long Learner admission is available to applicants who meet the criteria. All direct entry colleges consider applicants under Life-Long Learner admissions.

  • Must be 21 years of age by the first day of class

  • You must be finished your high-school education for two years by the first day of classes

  • Select "Life-Long Learner" when applying


Textbook Costs:  $415*

All textbooks & eBooks are paid for and picked up/installed prior to the start date of the program. 

Printing Fees:  $130*

All printing packages are paid for and picked up prior to the start date


Required Supplies (purchased by student):​

  1. Digital or analog watch with second-hand capacity $25*

  2. Tablet $150*

      - for accessing eBooks while completing work on computer

  3. Microsoft 365 Personal Subscription $56*

  4. Internet (through your choice of provider) $420*

      - internet subscription minimum specifications needed: up to 10Mbps download speeds 

  5. Laptop $350*

      - laptop minimum specifications needed: AMD 3020e processor or Intel equivalent, 500            GB hard drive, min 8GB RAM, 64 bit operating system, Windows 10, at least one USB            port

Includes sphygmomanometer with stethoscope & retractable measuring tape.

There is an optional 40-hour, 2-week practicum available to those who qualify.


When a student has completed the Medical Office Assistant Diploma Program, they will be proficient in all of the clinical aspects of a medical center. Students will be able to effectively assist physicians and nurses in preparing for particular medical treatments and procedures as well as prepping the patient to see the physician or nurse.
