Workshop Description
This is a one-day introduction workshop for Beginners. If you are interested in Massage Therapy as a profession, take the ONLINE workshop for FREE, all you have to do is fill out the request form below!

Want some Hands-On experience? After checking out the online course, register (small cost associated) for the optional hands-on portion!

This workshop presents the basic concepts of human anatomy, terminology, theory, and practical application of massage. Consent, postural mechanics, exercise, and comprehension are described and explained.
​
This workshop does not contribute to obtaining a diploma or qualify a person to work as a Massage Therapist or to practice.
​
Those who apply for the Medical Massage Therapy diploma program through Axiom Career College will be eligible to receive a discount on their admission fee by Registering for this workshop.

Objectives

Be more body-aware
Gain knowledge about Massage Therapy History
Become acquainted with basic terminology, anatomy, and theoretical concepts of massage
Awareness of proper posture and postural mechanics
Understand the importance of consent and boundaries
Be aware of massage professionalism and ethics
Understand when massage is not suitable, precautionary, or contraindicated.
Be aware when massage is inappropriate and understand your rights as a patient
Gain hands-on experience with relaxation massage techniques (optional practical portion)
